Terraced Garden with Pool
A large rear garden in a modern housing development in Droitwich. Originally a sloped garden, the client wanted two distinct levels. We achieved this with a 30m retaining wall, 2 circular seating areas, 2 semi circular steps, a large patio area and pond feature. The finished look was completed with 8 tonnes of top soil and new lawn.

Gardeners World
Approached by local charity Birmingham Focus on Blindness we were asked to take part in a project of designing and constructing a garden in the Gardeners World Live exhibition at the NEC in June 2005.
The garden was designed with people with a visual impairment in mind – bold black and white to clearly define areas, a water feature for background sound and tactile scented planting.
Working from a design brief by Jeff Challand of JPC Garden Design and in collaboration with soft landscaper Jon Hewett of Grace Gardens the garden was based around raised beds and a water feature constructed from rendered concrete blocks with wooden coping.
The project took 4 days to complete and was awarded a silver medal by the RHS judging panel.

Primary School Garden
A local primary school wanted to make the most of a sloped, unused section of the grounds.
Tucked away in the corner the children wanted a quiet area where they could sit and talk during breaks.
The result was what the pupils were to name ‘The Secret Garden’ - steps leading to a 5m x 4m raised deck with balustrading – a ramp for wheelchair access was added later.

Large Private Garden
A much neglected large rear garden at an extended semi-detached property in Hall Green, Birmingham. The client wanted a large patio seating area, a central lawn and minimal planting areas.
We used Cotswold paving slabs and charcoal block paving to achieve this transformation.

Garden with Planters
A small and under used rear garden and unattractive front garden area in Bearwood, Birmingham.
The brief was to remove the untidy lawn and replace with natural stone paving and planting areas. The fence panels were also replaced and painted and a new summer house was constructed on the raised deck at the rear of the garden.
The new focal point of the front garden was a raised planter made from reclaimed railway sleepers, simple paving and a new fence and gate to match the colour of the house.

Raised Decking
A rear garden in Bearwood, Birmingham that had become neglected and overgrown after the house had remained empty for a short time.
The lawn and hedge to the left hand side had become totally unmanageable – great for the local wildlife but not so good for the house’s new owners. Added to the difficulties was the slope that the garden stood upon.
The brief was to provide a large raised decked area at the top of the garden near to the house, a shaped lawn with planting areas, new fencing and a patio space at the bottom of the garden that gets the sun at the end of the day.

Dividing a Small Garden
A small sloping garden in Bearwood, Birmingham. The brief was to compartmentalise the space for entertaining, structural planting and growing vegetables.
We used reclaimed railway sleepers to terrace the space and construct planters. Natural stone paving and gravel was used for seating areas and trellis divided a small lawn from a vegetable patch and green house at the rear of the garden.
